It is extremely difficult to solve a problem without knowing the history of the problem

It is extremely difficult to solve a problem without knowing the history of the problem (look at the many doctors throughout the world). One the eve of the Civil War in 1860, 300,000 of the 5 million Black were considered "free". In 1860, these 300k were spread throughout the nation, and had miraculously acquired roughly .5% of the nation's wealth. Almost all of these 300,000 were employed working in houses/plantations or providing comfort to Whites.

One of the main problems facing the Black community in 1860 was not owning or controlling enough wealth AND resources... Fast forward slightly more than 150 years. Blacks control around the same estimated .5% of the nation's wealth. The overwhelming majority have some sort of government affiliated job, or work for larger non-Black companies. Averages state that less than 2% of Black work in their own community for their own people.

What we want to spend a lot of time talking about is -- How can we change this epidemic problem?

How is history related to our current mindset/circumstances?

What are actual steps people can take to acquire group wealth?
