What neo-colonislism seeks

Neo-colonialism seeks to retain the same economic relationshio between imperialist powers and the developing countries that were created during colonialism, with some minor modifications or 'improvements' such as the introduction of a small degree of industrial development and changes in the land tanure.

Under neo-colonialism, the developing countries remain the source of raw materials, supply minerals, industrial crops, and foodstuffs for Western industries and serves as markets for Western manufactured goods and machines.

This system of economic relationship helps to safeguard imperialist interests, since it keeps the developing countries economically weak and dependent on imperialism. Western investments, education aids, loans, trading policies, and other schemes are all geared to retain the  developing countries as primary source of their raw materials
