You can debate Obama's legacy in terms of the policies he pushed for Black Americans.

People will say "The Republican Congress" etc.

But what you can't blame the GOP Congress for is how many people are surprised by these numbers.

That's a failure in leadership. Even if you can't get the policies we need, you can use the platform to educate people into the scope of the problem.

If he had spent more time talking about the racialized legacy of the FHA and less time singing songs, we'd have a better electorate.
